Greald Ford a guest editorial on Ford and Republicans
From Dan Goodman
What Ford's actions show above all that he was a Republican to the core and like all Republicans of today he put his party and greed for power over his country. I mean does anyone doubt that Ford would not have held his tounge during the election cycle of 2004 if his opinion would have helped Bush. What the mainstream media will never point out, but what we must point out is putting greed for power over country is a difference between the Republicans and Democrats. For we must remember that in 1968 LBJ was steaming toward re-election. So certain were most political experts that LBJ would win easily the most prominent Republicans decided not to run. In fact the Republican line of the day was "nominate Nixon so we won't have to break in a new loser."But the Democrats led by Eugene "Clean Gene" McCarthy showed great honor, courage and above all Patriotism and put country before party and greed for power and challenged and denied LBJ the nomination because of his lies about, management of and crimes executing the Vietnam War. What Repuplicans showed in 2004 and is further highlighted by Gerald Ford's interview to be released only after his death is that no Repubulican has the same honor, courage and patriotism of the Democrats. Instead Republicans put party and greed for power over country.
