Why The Dems Support Lieberman

Why is it, you may ask, so many well known Democrats cast their support to Lieberman and join forces with the Right Wingers in blaming shrill Left Wing bloggers for the rise of Ned Lamont's primary race challenge? Why do they meddle in an issue rightfully decided by Connecticut voters, and why do they have the incredible gall to support Lieberman even in the face of his disgusting decision to run as an Independent should the CT voters choose Lamont? Why do they support a man who will deliberately and spitefully sabotage Democrat Lamont's Senate bid should he win the Primary and hand the race to the Republican challenger?

The answer is a word. Establishment. The Dems supporting Lieberman are Establishment Democrats afraid that should one Establishment Democrat named Lieberman lose his Seat to an upstart, vocal, anti-Bush, fresh face fighting Democrat, that they too will face the peril of Primary challenges from the same types seeking to throw out the Establishment types with new blood promising to fight real fights against Bush, Movement Republicans, and the Right Wing itself.

Our Establishment Democrats have failed the foundations of the Democratic Party. Through their wimpishness they have turned into a group of Bush-Lites and have traded the ideals of FDR for the safety of corporate campaign contributions ala Liebermans huge pharmaceutical lobby campaign donations. In short, they refuse to fight the very Establishment that succors them. And they deserve to be thrown out.
