Muqtada al-Sadr And King George Bush

Do you remember the name of Muqtada al-Sadr? The young leader of the Shia faction in the section of Baghdad known as Sadr City? Named so after his father, a very popular cleric who dared to oppose Saddam Hussein. Muqtada is also the leader, or a leader, of the armed militia known as the Mahdi Army. It was they who fought a pitched battle with US Marines in the cuty of Fallujah shortly before US forces all but destroyed the city. Basically, they fought the Marines to a standoff. None of the advanced weaponry, training, not even the US airpower, was enough to force a surrender. It was not until this battle ended and US forces ringed the city that Fallujah was very nearly destroyed and thousands of Iraqis made in to refugees.

Do you also recall the vow made by US forces to capture Muqtada and take him prisoner?
It was not an offhand comment, it was a promise. A promise made of ignorance and avarice.
Muqtada al-Sadr, the US forces slowly learned, was far too popular a figure among the majority Iraqi Shiite population, and Muqtada's political power far exceeded the comprehension of those individuals vowing to arrest him.

In the news out of Iraq today, a free and very vocal Muqtada issued another scathing criticism of the US occupation of his homeland, made another call for US forces to depart, and is now organizing a mass demonstration in Baghdad on the fourth anniversary of the fall of Baghdad.

Just another example of the colossal failures and mistakes perpetrated by the Bush-Cheney Junta through their amazing combination of both malice and ignorance in truly historic proportions.

Bush Gang Are Traitors

Bush and all his supporters are traitors to America .

It can no longer be argued that America has lost the war in Iraq .

By lost I mean America will be worse off, weaker, less secure, poorer, with fewer allies, have less influence in the world especially the middle east, and our enemies will be stronger, more secure, richer, and have more allies and influence in the world especially the Middle East.

The worst part of Bush’s unnecessary invasion of Iraq will not come home to roost until when, not if, America leaves Iraq. And let us make no mistake about it, America will leave Iraq . The only questions are when, and how many more must die in this unnecessary and lost war.

From the beginning, it was apparent to those of us paying attention, once Bush started the Iraq war America had a single choice: military draft or lose. That is it was apparent from the start that in order to win in Iraq America would have to not only secure Iraq’s borders to keep out terrorists, but also provide everyday security for Iraqis so they could carry out their lives and build the institutions necessary for a unified western style democracy. The ratio of occupying force numbers to civilians in need of protection are well known. The USA has successful recent experience in the former Yugoslavia where not one single US soldier has been killed, and where old animosities are all slowly being out to rest in favor of peace and prosperity.

In Iraq the troop commitment required for a peaceful and successful transition was never even a serious consideration of the Bush group. US Army General Shinseki had the realistic troop numbers in mind and was attacked and removed by the Bush people for opening his mouth.

And this was just the troop commitment America would have to make for the Iraq war to be a success. Bush would also have had to institute a Marshall type plan at a cost of at least $1,000,000,000,000.00 to rebuild Iraq and provide a level of prosperity to the Iraqis so as to induce and convince them that being allied with America is better the choice of sectarian struggle, corruption and the chaos Iraq has been mired in ever since the US toppled Saddam.

The problem was that for Bush to ask America to pay the cost in lives and money necessary to win the war in Iraq would have cost Republicans power in Washington DC. As this has become so clear that even the most reality challenged person now realizes the cold hard truth about Iraq. That because the price of victory was too high, Bush and the Republicans have chosen to lose the war in a bid to hold power.

The problem for them is the only way to hold power in the face of losing a war is to shift the blame from those who got us into this war on to those who will get us out, the Democrats. As was said at the start of this discussion, the disaster that is Bush’s unnecessary and lost war in Iraq will fully hit home when, not if, America leaves Iraq. By holding out as long as possible and forcing those of us who opposed this war from the beginning to force the issue and cause America to leave Iraq, Bush is hoping that those who will get us out will also get the blame for the disaster that is certain to follow.

The worst part of this strategy on the part of Bush and his supporters is that it requires them to continue to sacrifice American lives and other treasures for the sole reason of shifting blame for their crimes and mistakes. Furthermore, by continuing to bleed America in this lost cause Bush and his supporters further weaken America and strengthen America’s enemies. In this lost and unnecessary war, Bush makes the disaster that will follow America’s leaving Iraq that much worse.

Last, to waste the lives of our military and other treasures, and increase the fallout of a disaster they caused, while at the same time making our enemies stronger just to shift the blame from your own mistakes and crimes on to those who tried to at first prevent and now try to mitigate and decrease the harm from your mistakes and crimes, not only puts the blood of our soldiers who will die for this sinful effort to hold on to power on Bush’s and his supporters hands, it makes the whole lot of them traitors to America.

Senate Repugs Vote, 5 More GI's Die

Yesterday the Senate Repugs plus one worm named Lyin' Joe Lieberman voted down a Democratic resolution calling for a plan to withdraw US troops from the Iraqi hellhole.
Five more US troops died while they did so, raising the total to 3,199.

The GOP must be held accountable. America needs a super majority Democratic Congress and a President named either Edwards, Obama, or Gore.

Our Great Media Loves Libby, Hates Law

You saw it over and over. A Fitzgerald mug shot in the WaPo was just one of the sickening examples of our MSM protecting the Junta. But why, you ask? Because Patrick Fitzgerald had the nerve to subpoena certain Beltway journalists and even have one tossed in jail. That's why. They hate him for that. His Libby investigation broke down the cozy wall behind which our Beltway press hides the bed they share with the power brokers in their mutually parasitic relationship.

Stop Reading the WaPo Today

Dear Editor and Ombudsman:
Just as I discontinues reading the NY Times because of their horribly shoddy reporting on the Administration's Iraq War build up, now I will stop reading your publication. I can trust your newspaper no more than theirs.

The latest journalistic atrocities are Fred Hiatt's unabashed con job trying to smear Amb. Wilson, and the incredibly atrocious use of a simulated mug shot of Prosecutor Patrick Fitzgerald. This was nothing short of a blatant attempt to influence a jury by placing, on the cover page of your Sunday magazine section, a malicious and grossly inaccurate attempt to cast a widely respected United States federal Prosecutor as some sort of thug. I found this action of yours disgusting and worthy great contempt.

Therefore I tell you today I am done with your pubication which rates little better than a grocery store check out line gossip magazine.

Sincerely,

Libby Guilty and Osama Happy

Vice President Dick Cheney's former chief of staff Lewis "Scooter" Libby has been convicted on Federal Court of Perjury, Obstruction of Justice, and lying to federal investigators. The jury did not buy his "poor memory" song and dance. Libby's conviction is the first conviction in 130 years of a White House staff member.

This week 2007 days will have passed since Osama bin Laden's horiffic attack on America and still Osama is a free man. The Cheney-Bush Gang has not caught him, have not "Brought justice to him" and there is no reason to suspect he has died from natural causes.

Nice going Bushitheads. You poeple have really fracked things up nicely.
