Wanted: Lame Duck Named Dubyah

On 11/7/06 America must flip the Congress from Republican to Democratic and then flip GW Bush from POTUS to LAME DUCK.

Choose your reasons, America:

A. 2,700 men and women unlucky enough to serve their nation while bloody liars send deadly orders from the White House.

B. Over 20,000 official US casualties, including 60 female soldiers killed, thousands of soldiers maimed and crippled, thousands more wounded.

C. A deliberate conspiracy to sell the American public the lie of an imminent threat from Iraq requiring immediate invasion and occupation.

D. The deliberate outing of a CIA operative running an intelligence ring investigating and combating the spread of WMD's by key White House officials peeved that her husband has exposed some of their many lies to the press and public.

E. To begin the real process of protecting America by using our forces and fortune wisely around the world to identify, locate, and neutralize the real terrorist cells posing actual threat to us, and take action domestically to protect ports, chemical plants, water supplies, and to finally complete the abilities of first responders to communicate and work with the our multitude of law enforcement agencies.

F. A poodle, lapdog, Lackey Congress willing to look the other way from any White House crime or lie just so as to protect their mutual political party from the public eye.

G. The endless, mindless, and incredibly damaging stalling of the White House refusing to deal openly on global warming. Editing scientific reports to better suit their political positions, hiding important evidence from the American public.

H. The staggering increase of the national debt, more added to the debt by this White House than all previous administrations combined.

I. Fighting important medical advances like embryonic stem cell research out the fear of losing
political support from religious fundamentalists.

J. To end the free hand with which SecDef Rumsfeld has managed to mis-manage Iraq in such a deadly fashion as to stagger the imagination and is fully and undeniably detailed and confirmed in the book FIASCO by Thomas E. Ricks.

K. To end the current practice of hiring lobbyists to write legislation intended to promote the enterprise of their former employers. Possible only due to the Lackey Republican Congress.

L. To end the current practice of awarding important domestic contracts only to politically reliable people and organizations. Possible only due to the Lackey Republican Congress.

M. To close the infamous "donut hole" in prescription drug coverage that forces senior citizens to pay thousands of dollars out of pocket for their life saving medications.

Choose your reasons America, then vote to fix our nation before it is too late. Flip Congress.

White House torturers needed immunity, got it from fellow
Republicans McCain and Graham.

The government of the United States of America has tortured human beings.
President Bush has denied it over and over, but the evidence and the timing of a desperate
push through congress of a bill attempting to redefine the Geneva Convention just prior to the upcoming interviews of prisoners recently transferred to Guantanamo from various torture sites, says otherwise. This is a paragraph cut from the WaPo on 9/21/06. Notice how the final bargain between “dissident Republicans” and the White House was required to include congressional absolution of “past violations” meaning the White House feared lawsuits in US courts over their torture of human beings.

On the key issue of detainee treatment that had caused the impasse between the White House and the dissident Republicans, the two sides agreed on a list of specified crimes that could provoke prosecution of CIA interrogators and others. They also agreed that past violations of the Geneva Conventions, an international treaty barring degrading and humiliating treatment of detainees, would not result in criminal or civil legal action.

The very notion our government deliberately and with great forethought saw to the torture of human beings should be repugnant to every single one of us. The so-called dissident Republicans may have protected the Geneva Convention but they sold their souls in the process and granted protection to torturers when immediate investigations and indictments were the true remedy to end this horrific tragedy and demonstrate to the world the USA has not yet become a true outlaw nation.

All They Have Left Are Lies

I propose this should be the first words out of every Dem spokersperson's mouth each time they answer anything having to do with the Junta, the GOPigs of congress, and their Noise Propaganda Machine in general.
Every single Dem, every single time, until every American with ears or eyes hears or sees the truth.

This is how the Dems should now be innoculating themselves against the national security Rove smear campaign now building steam for the mid-terms.

Iran's Achmadinejad And Our George W. Bush

Ted Koppel recently reports something from his visit to Iran that I have long suspected to be true. The core supporters of Iranian president Mahmoud Achmadinejad are basically the same as Bush's core supporters here in the USA. The main and only difference is the brand of their religion.

Koppel reports Mahmoud's support is strongest amongst the poorest who also tend to be the most religious and the least well informed. As Ted interviewed himself up the Iranian socio-economic ladder, support for Mahmoud dwindled in direct proportion to ladder rung. In Iran, a religious zealot has been propelled to power by appealing to the religious masses and by scaring them with warnings of the Enemy from the West (us) out to kill them because of their religion and for their oil.

In the USA we have a religious zealot propelled to power by appealing to the most religious amongst us with vague promises of restoring christianity to governance, his supposed support of passing new religious based national laws, and by frightening our masses with visions of Islamic murderers bent on our destruction just beacause we love freedom and they don't.

In both cases it required a base of particularly poorly informed voters filled with religious devotions to elect either man to power. Both men remain in power only due to the to the mutual distrust, suspicions, and fear of the other they work to their favor at home.

And if I skip the Bush supporters here motivated by the money they believed they stood to gain from a Bush presidency, it is only because they alone could never have elected Bush. It took religious zealots here for the Bush fiasco to get rolling.

So, as I long suspected and as Ted Koppel confirms, Bush and Achmadinejad owe a lot to one another and should some day be close buddies.

US Soldiers Sacrificed for Mid-Terms

US troop numbers in Iraq have recently increased to 147,000. Is this recent and long overdue troop strength increase just an attempt to temporarily quell the violence and diminish the bloodshed just a bit as we approach the November mid-terms? Why wait till now? Why were the badly needed troops held back for so long to begin with?

Answer: because to have done otherwise would have proven Rumsfeld and Feith dead wrong in their promises of troop reductions following the toppling of Saddam's regime. Rumsfeld and Feith are directly responsible for over 20,000 American soldiers dead and wounded due to their blatant incompetence. But the ultimate blame lies with their salesman president named George W. Bush.

Read This Book: Fiasco by Thomas E. Ricks

I am (courtesy of the West Allis Public Library) currently reading FIASCO by Thomas Ricks.

What a cracking good read. This book is spot-on with each and every page. Pulls no punches, treats all the persons alike no matter their political affilliations.

Your blogger, me, paid close attention to the Cheney-Bush Gang run-up to war and recognized it for the sales job it was. But there is no way I or any non-professional observer could possibly have learned all the details covered in FIASCO. Read this book and if you are not amazed by the utter breakdown engineered by the propaganda and manipulations of the WH Gang then you refuse reality.
